For over twenty years, I’ve been visiting zoos in France and Europe. This work gave place to the series In Custody. In this work I explored a vision of the animal as a moving and elusive form which is kept in its cage to every visitor’s eye.
For Zootopia, I focused on the architecture and the functionality of the building where are kept endangered species.
In this color series I am no longer on the visitors side but I take the animals point of view. I am interested in places which are forbidden to the visitors, the “winter” rooms, the animal housings. The animals are absent, only the scale of the restraints can give an idea of the species hosted on each site.
