Telling time, Romania
For more than twenty years, Philippe Lopparelli has been exploring timeless lands, which seem diluted or unpolished at times, and where social codes of conduct between people are now very different to ours. When he first travelled around Romania, he immediately fell in love with the fabulous landscapes of the Carpates mountains. The genuineness of the inhabitants, their luminosity and their traditional lifestyle are brought to the foreground of his work, which captures an intact emotion, that of the rural world and its gentle ebb and flow.
