  • Strange and hieratic, familiar yet from afar, discrete but also striking, the Figure(s) of Pascal Aimar glimmer like mirrors of our own solitude. Captured on the spot, in the flowing crowds or in the ongoing traffic of the city, these faces alike, similar to our own, appear and disappear like fragments of the soul.
This work by Pascal Aimar is the fruit of a systematic photographic approach. By choosing cluttered spaces, he is able to enter into the intimate spheres of drivers and ordinary passers-by. Through the looks in people’s eyes he is seeking to bring out their interiority, but also shed light on humanity, and unveil particular “states” which arouse interest when they occur.
