Murmur, a muffled sound that travels (Israel-Palestine, 2004)
An echo, a sound that flies forth and back, stopped by a wall.
Stopped by many walls. The everlasting echo of sounds in this country is mind blowing. I hear a concert of sounds voiced through these echoes.
The walls are religious, safe, imaginary. They tell the story of an everyday life inflicted more or less on people, but it is often hard to tell.
A muffled sound can still be heard, that of war and strife.
The whispers and sounds behind every closed door, inside the marrow of every family, still divide and confine the whole country.
Peace, far from being heard, can only be longed.
