  • Gori Transit, 2009-2010

In august 2008, more than 15 years after the first conflict in South Ossetia, Georgia was back at war against Russia over the lost province. A new wave of displaced population, 20,000 to 25,000 georgian people, had to flee burned-down villages and find shelter in schools, abandonned buildings and newly built camps.

These photographs were made in 2009 and 2010 in Gori, Tbilisi and close to the border with South Ossetia.
