  • Feyzin, 2012

The small city of Feyzin, situated in the «chemistry valley», south of Lyon, is one of the most dangerous places to live in France from an industrial risk point of view. The city is surrounded by an oil refinery, a gas storage and distribution facility, and two chemical factories.

How does the risk and its management impact the urban landscape? Is the risk visible? Emergency evacuation poles, abandoned houses, fences.. Real indices or fake signals?

Commissioned work for the exhibition “Risk Insights” first shown at the Rolex Learning Center EPFL in Lausanne in october 2012.
