Between two worlds / Denis Bourges

Denis Bourges photographed the everyday life of abbey monks and tourists at the Mont Saint-Michel. His work on the monastery and the monks, who walk up and down the streets under the gaze of tourists, draws a comparison between two worlds. Denis Bourges brings together two environments which are completely at odds with one another, conscious of the fact that the people lead their daily lives side by side without really interacting. This documentary is a parable of a society in which people live together but know nothing about the ‘other’.
