We won’t go to paradise anymore

We won’t go to paradise anymore is part of Tendance Floue’s collective work. The project began during the first anti-globalization protests at the end of the 90’s. A series of crucial events would follow drastically changing current events: the Erika oil spill, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East.
Caught between these two opposing experiences, full of hope on the one hand and terror on the other, the photographers of Tendance Floue suddenly felt the need to go on site and document those events together. These reportages carried out side by side will be the basis for the construction of the common oeuvre that will ensue. This period of photographic research is characterized by a less journalistic approach in favour of a more intimate inquiry. Other isolated images will be taken from former works to complete the narration.
The project was built on the shared conviction that the events of 2001, especially the fall of the Twin Towers in New York, had put an end to the utopian dream of the anti-globalization movement, had engendered new conflicts and had irreversibly led to a new form of fatalism. This feeling gave birth to the phrase expressed in images, We won’t go to paradise anymore
