> Paris suburbs

Alain Willaume and Bertrand Meunier are continuing their project “93, more than ever”.

The subject of this work entitled “93, more than ever” is the French department of Seine-Saint-Denis, also known as ‘93’, the postal code of this northeast suburb of Paris.
It’s a two-voice project carried out by Alain Willaume and Bertrand Meunier.
Walking relentlessly all over that vast district (236 km2), they have at length followed the same streets, collecting voices, signs and silhouettes and staying away from the clichés that usually define those disadvantaged neighborhoods. Little by little, each one with his specific voice, they worked at finding a common way to tackle the stigmatized territory.
In the light of the recent events of the terrorist attacks, the project will keep going on in 2017, exploring the Suburbs issue with a specific attention to that new context, one of the main political and social issue today in the French democracy. Supported by Conseil général de la Seine-Saint-Denis.
